What to Wear

Your guide to dressing for an Indian wedding

Day 1Wednesday, October 21
Morning

Haldi Ceremony

A turmeric ceremony where family and friends lovingly apply haldi paste to the couple for blessings and good luck. It's joyful, messy, and colourful โ€” your clothes might get stained, so wear something you don't mind sacrificing!

Colour Palette

Yellows, oranges & marigold tones

Evening

Cocktail Party

Western formal / Black tie optional. This is the one event where western glamour takes centre stage. Think gala, not garden party.

Floor-length gowns, elegant cocktail dresses, or chic jumpsuits. Rich jewel tones, metallics, sequins, and classic black all work beautifully.

A well-fitted suit or tuxedo in dark tones โ€” black, navy, or charcoal. Lightweight fabrics like linen are ideal. No tie is perfectly fine.

Day 2Thursday, October 22
Sundown & Evening

Wedding & Dinner

We'd love for you to embrace Indian fashion! Indian weddings celebrate colour โ€” no whites or blacks here. Think rich fabrics, embroidery, and pastel tones.

Colour Palette

Pastels only please! Soft lavenders, blush pinks, mint greens & champagne

Goa in October is warm and tropical (28โ€“32ยฐC / 82โ€“90ยฐF). Choose breathable, lightweight fabrics. Linens and light silks are your best friends.Check the weather โ†’
